OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Certification
Bloodborne pathogens training and certification is manifested in OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910.1030. Professions included in the mandatory program are health care providers, teachers, coaches and personal trainers, tattoo artists, plumbers, electricians and day care workers. Training can also be required for general workplace representatives with CPR and first aid duties.
OSHA compliant bloodborne pathogens courses cover causes and symptoms of Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and HIV, the potential risks to workers from bloodborne pathogens, proper personal protective equipment, the use of controls and cabinets, how to correctly handle sharp equipment and proper hand hygiene procedures. Certification is issued after the successful completion of a final exam
